COVID-19 Update: 22 August

Our team has been notified that a customer who recently visited Grand Plaza several times has returned a positive test for COVID-19.

Queensland Health has informed us of the following information regarding each recent visit:

9 August           Woolworths       11am- 12pm
10 August         Woolworths       ~11am- ~12:30pm 
12 August         Coles                ~7:15pm- unknown 
14 August         Coles                After 10am- before 11am
15 August         Kmart               ~9:30am- ~9:45am 
16 August         Coles                ~10:30am- ~11am 
19 August         Woolworths       ~9:30am- unknown

We understand continuing concern around COVID-19 and we want to assure you our priority continues to be the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, retailers, team members and the broader community.

We have maintained a range of stringent and protective measures in place across our centre, including:

  • Physical and digital signage reminding customers to keep a safe distance apart
  • Window signage and floor decals provided to retailers to assist with communicating physical distancing measures
  • Floor decals and physical distancing reference points in key areas
  • Increased sanitisation and cleaning of all customer touch points and high traffic areas
  • Hand sanitiser at all entrances
  • Where available, use of our traffic counters and/or digital heat mapping to identify busy zones to help us to actively manage these areas before reaching customer density thresholds
  • Automated alerts on occupancy allowing our team to actively monitor how many customers are in the centre at any time
  • Additional team members in-centre during peak periods, offering hand sanitiser and reminding customers of distancing guidelines
  • Automated, regular public announcements centre-wide, communicating distancing expectations
  • Security officers, in high visibility vests, are monitoring our centres, together with supporting local police to enforce social distancing requirements as appropriate
  • Zero tolerance on anti-social or disrespectful behaviour
  • Best practice guidance and support, such as our Retailer Handbook, to help all our retailers operate safely
